The visitors started well gaining ground through their forwards before releasing their backs to open up an early lead. Witham rallied and we're determined to show their attacking prowess and came mighty close. firstly, Fiji Dan made a break before deftly flicking the ball back to an unsuspecting recipient who spilled it. The combination of fog and my hands on my face meant i didnt know who dropped it. Soon afterwards, Dave Hollick tried to use basketball skills to get through. Admittedly, I believe he was still in shock as Ryan Logue had just tried something very new- passing the ball....

Having seen Dave's basketball, Kevin Hobden used American football skills to chuck the ball over the line rather than placing it down. 

However , Hollick did score in the first half and it was a well taken try. The defender stood strong but Dave drove through with grit, determination and a slightly wonky pinky.

Runwell scored some tries but they were at the foggy end.

At half time, Runwell were well ahead but Witham knew there were more points to be had.

Early in the second half, Ryan Logue managed to evade several tackles to get withams second try. His run included a very good dummy but he later admitted this was meant to be a pass but he forgot to let go of the ball. 

However, he missed the conversion. This pissed him off so he scored another try and this time put the ball right under the posts. He got the conversion this time.

Darren Smith had a couple of his trade mark steam train moments and Chris Jarman was getting stuck into everything. Tony Hayes had to come off injured. Apparently it wasn't the bollock injury we suspected so that's good news for the physio. Steve Regan is very cool calm and collected at scrum half- well he's cool and calm, but their scrum half collected him a few times.

All in all, a very merit table result if you know what I mean but a massive lump of respect to the chaps for an awesome display.
