Once again, the hosts used their larger forwards to gain ground but were thwarted early on. Witham nearly took the lead when Lee Bywater chipped over the defence and gathered. although he got over the line, he was held up. Soon after, a driving maul gave the platform for Brentwood to take the lead. From the restart, Witham surged forward. Slick hands through the backs led to a try for Luke Standbridge. Brentwood took the lead again through their forwards but by half time, Witham were level through a Jake Westwood try.
Old Brentwood started the second half strongly, taking the lead with 2 early tries. they were looking for more when Jon Beales stole their ball. A fast break gave Michael Vidler a try converted by Standbridge. Witham pressed to try to get back on terms but 2 late tries by Brentwood gave them a deserved win.
Man of the Match was Marley Valentine- he was constantly breaking up Brentwood's play and always looked to move Witham forward.
