Witham felt ready for there first game at home but despite the beautiful warm weather Witham started slow. This allowed Maldon to get 3 quick trys; the day then got darker as Maldon scored again which made it feel like it was going to be a long day at the office for Witham.

Halftime came around and the Captain, Leigh Adams, gave the players the talk they needed making them come out alert and hitting Maldon back at every break down. Fantastic hits and carries from substitute Oliver Downs allowed Witham to start playing their game and gave the number 9, Neil Collyer, the time to get the backs moving. Witham were on the front foot for the whole 2nd half but unfortunately couldn't get over the try line.

Captian Leigh Adams said "I was frustrated with how we played the first half as I know we can play so much better and the second half showed that. We were more alert and wanting the ball to play our style of Rugby."

Next week we are away to Writtle, let's hope we continue the momentum of our 2nd half into that match.
